The meaning of Rugby

Rugby is a team sport: it’s about playing together, learning together and growing together. At Kurdistan Rugby we believe in supporting the youth of Kurdistan by providing them with the opportunities to learn a new sport but also about teamwork, discipline and fitness.

We also believe in putting back into our community, which is why our training sessions and match days are free to all which enables everyone, local or international, to participate and watch. We think it’s important to raise the profile of sports, and show that anyone can play and enjoy rugby.

Our touch rugby sessions are mixed genders and open to all - whatever your age, experience or ability. Touch rugby is easy to learn and is low contact (you 'tackle' players by touching them with both hands). You can learn about the rules of touch rugby here, but don't worry our team will teach you as the game is played!

7s Rugby is full contact and fast paced, and this is the main competitive form of rugby played at Kurdistan Rugby. We welcome players of all ages, experiences and abilities to come to our training sessions on Wednesdays to try out for the 7s team.
