Kurdistan Rugby was established in 2013 by Neil Young as a non-profit organisation with the aim to introduce rugby as a popular sport to the people of Kurdistan. Over the years, we have been honoured to have been represented by a diverse group of players from all across the Kurdistan Region, the Middle East, Europe, North and South America, Africa, Australasia, and Asia.
The team has regularly played and trained over the last 6 years, and our touch rugby games are held on a weekly basis, where we welcome players of all ages, genders, and levels of experience.
Our team has participated in Dubai 7s International Social Tournament in 2015, 2016 and 2018. We are proud to have been involved in arranging and participating in the first ever rugby match in Kurdistan and Iraq on 20th April 2019; Kurdistan Rugby won the match 25-5 against the Iraqi Rugby Association.
